- Citrus: Bergamot, Grapefruit, Lime, Mandarin, Sweet Orange
- Herbacious: Clary Sage, Cypress, Juniper Berry
- Earthy: Cedarwood Atlas, Hyssop
How to Make a Diffuser Blend
Creating a blend right inside your diffuser is fun & easy!
- Fill your essential oil diffuser with water per manufacturer’s instructions.
- Add the required drops of essential oils to the water.
- Blend in sequence. Start with the first oil in my recipe, and make your way down.
- Close the lid of your diffuser.
- Turn on and enjoy!
Diffusers typically take anywhere between 4-8 drops of essential oils. That is, if their water reservoir is between 100 – 200 ml and you are diluting at the generally recommended rate of 2%.
There are reasons you may wish to diffuser more strongly, or less potent. You can find and follow more exact dilution rates for diffusers here. You’ll also want to follow specific guidelines and considerations if you have pets in your house, and make sure you diffuse safely around cats.

Diffusing Tips
Diffusing essential oils is a way to set the mood and atmosphere in your home. It is also a means to maximize the oils’ fragrance and therapeutic properties so you can enjoy aromatherapy benefits from diffusing.
To start diffusing essential oils, you’ll need an essential oil diffuser. Most diffusers also double as a night light and you can use them with or without the light options. This is especially handy if you have kids, who usually love the various light options in these units.
Place your diffuser in a handy and accessible place, but not somewhere you can knock it over too easily. Find my tips on how to best place and use your diffuser here.
