Why Use An Essential Oil Diffuser?
There are four different types of oil diffusers:
- Nebulizing
- Ultrasonic
- Heat
- Evaporative
Each one does the job in a different way, so it’s up to you to select the one that works the best for you. For example, a nebulizer doesn’t use any heat or water. However, this type can be the most expensive of the four listed above and certain models can be noisy if that’s something you’re sensitive to.
Ultrasonic diffusers break the oil into tiny microparticles, and thus can only be used with a small amount of essential oil. This type of machine is great for nighttime use because it doesn’t make much noise. Despite this, your experience of the essential oil itself relies on the air circulation of the room because only a little bit of mist is actually put into the air at once. On the other hand, heat diffusers are an economical way for the oil to disperse the oil. That said, because the heat is breaking down the actual oil itself, the heat can actually impact the properties of the oil.
Finally, an evaporative diffuser is a quicker way to get your favorite scent into the air, and it blows quietly. That said, because of the way that the scent circulates (what makes it both quick and quiet), it may lack therapeutic elements because the components of the oils aren’t defused at the same time.
